What is the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)?
The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) is a medium- to long-term debt financing facility launched by the Government of India in August 2020 under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, with a total corpus of ₹1 lakh crore. Implemented by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, it provides interest subvention and credit guarantee support on loans for post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets such as warehouses, cold storage, primary processing units, and agri-logistics, helping reduce post-harvest losses and improve farmer income.

Loan Facility
Up to ₹2 Crore per Project
Loans above ₹2 crore are also permitted, with interest subvention and guarantee benefits applicable to the first ₹2 crore.
Interest Subvention
3% per annum
Available for a maximum of 7 years, including the moratorium period, capped at a 9% lending rate.
Credit Guarantee Coverage
Via CGTMSE
Government-paid credit guarantee fee for eligible loans up to ₹2 crore under the CGTMSE scheme.
Flexible Repayment
Up to 7 Years
Repayment based on project cash flow, with a moratorium period ranging from 6 months to 2 years.
